OASIS (blocking system)

OASIS is the nationwide blocking system for gambling. The register stores blocks that apply throughout Germany and for all licensed gambling providers at once, online as well as at the betting shop. Before every bet, it is checked whether a person is blocked. Anyone who is blocked cannot play.

• Self-exclusion: You can have yourself blocked if you need a break or permanent protection.
• Third-party block: Providers have to block people for whom there are signs of a gambling problem.

A block applies for at least a set period and is not lifted automatically.

You can apply for a block directly with a provider, at the betting shop or via the responsible body. It is free of charge. After the minimum duration expires, it does not end by itself, but has to be actively lifted. That gives you time to make a considered decision.

OASIS is one of the most important building blocks of German player protection.
