Identification (KYC)
With identification (KYC), you prove your identity before you can bet. This protects against misuse and ensures the minimum age.
At a glance
What does KYC mean?
KYC stands for Know Your Customer, i.e. the provider's obligation to know its users. Before betting or at the latest before a payout, you prove your identity, for example with an ID. In this way, age and person are checked.
You can read more in the guide Minimum age for sports betting.
Why is identification important?
The check ensures that only adults bet and that no other people's identities are used. It is also a central part of money laundering prevention and is required by law. For honest users, this creates no disadvantage.
When and how does KYC take place?
Online, you upload an ID document at registration or before your first payout. At the betting shop, you show your ID at the counter. For larger amounts, a renewed check can be required. Keep your details up to date so that payouts run smoothly.
