Tipico payout at the betting shop: how to collect your winnings

Once the event on your slip has finished and your bet has come in, you can claim your winnings straight away. Take the voucher to the till or scan it at the self-service terminal. The system checks the bet and shows the amount you've won. For small amounts, this often takes just a few seconds.

For larger amounts, we run extra checks as part of the usual security process. Have your photo ID ready the first time you claim a higher amount.

You can withdraw as soon as your bet has been settled. For a single bet that is after the match ends. For an accumulator, it is only once every match on the slip has been settled. If you bet with the customer card, the winnings go to your customer card account automatically.

Two further conditions apply. You must be of age, so at least 18, or 21 in Bremen. And before your first payout you verify yourself with a valid official ID. What counts is explained in ID at the betting shop.

Before your first payout at the latest, you show a valid official ID. For later payouts the staff may ask for it again, for example for larger amounts.

With the Tipico customer card you get your winnings paid out in cash at the Tipico betting shop. You can also leave them on the card. Every bet you place with the card belongs to your customer card account. If the paper slip gets lost, the staff still pay out your winnings.

Before your first payout, Tipico verifies your customer card account with a valid official ID. You don't need it when you first register. Bring it when you collect winnings for the first time, because without ID they can't be paid out. The shop can tell you which documents are accepted.

For cash payouts in the shop, Tipico states an upper limit of 25,000 euros. Tipico gives security as the reason. How much a single shop can pay you in cash on the spot varies from shop to shop. For large amounts, ask at the shop in advance. You may arrange an appointment for the payout.

• Allow some time for the collection in case of extra checks

With the customer card, only at your shop and at shops run by the same franchise partner. According to the Tipico Help Center, the Tipico Card is tied to the shop that issued it. It can't be used in all Tipico shops across Germany.

Whether a paper betting slip can be cashed in at another Tipico shop is best checked with the staff beforehand. If in doubt, plan to collect where you placed the bet.

A confirmed cash-out is only credited once the betting slip has been settled, so after all matches are settled. That is how the Tipico Help Center describes it: the amount is earmarked for payout, and an early payout is not possible because of legal requirements.

Not via the customer card, because the online account and the customer card are separate accounts. No balance can be transferred between them. You withdraw online winnings using the payout methods in your online account.

According to the Tipico Help Center, Tipico usually checks a payout requested online within 24 hours. After that, a bank transfer takes up to three working days. A winning slip is often valid for several weeks to a few months after the matchday. You'll find the exact deadline on the voucher itself or in the terms of participation. Once the deadline passes, the claim usually lapses.

If you're in danger of missing the deadline, speak to the staff at the betting shop. Some cases can be sorted out, but there's no guarantee.

At the Tipico betting shop you get winnings paid out in cash. If you bet with the customer card, you can also leave the winnings on your card balance. You can then keep using that balance in the shop. To find out whether a bank transfer is also possible, ask at the betting shop.
