Legal note on public holidays
In Germany, public holidays and their protective rules are set by the federal states. The public-holiday laws of each state decide which days are statutory public holidays and which extra restrictions apply on silent days. Sports betting, and so the opening of betting outlets, is governed by the State Treaty on Gambling 2021 and the relevant state law. That is why there is no single nationwide rule on opening. You can read more in our guide to betting shop opening hours and rules. The binding opening hours are on each betting shop page. Check them there before your visit.
